Sorry if this offends anyone, but Hallowe'en is not celebrated in our household. By the way, that's meant to be a super soaker.
Trick-or-treating, Jack-o-lantern and the like are part of the Americanised version of the celebration. The original one was a Celtic festival, held between the end of the "lighter half" and the beginning of the "darker half" of the year. They believed the border between our world and the "Otherworld" was at its weakest, and spirits could pass through, good and bad. They would pray to the good spirits to give them a good harvest, and dress up as spirits themselves to scare off the worst ones.
Just a bit of history for you >.> As far as our family is concerned, October 31st is officially cousin Nicolas' birthday.
I'd love to actually do something like this, but Mum said no when I suggested it ._. Well they asked for it, really. So why not? Pfft, no-one on our street even dresses up, they just ride around on their bikes in their normal clothing. I also had the idea of explaining the whole history to them to see how they'd react. If it were one of the boys I saw earlier today, they'd probably wait until I was finished and say "Where's the candy?" to which I'd reply "We don't have candy in Australia" *closes and locks door* 'Cause we don't. We have lollies.
actuly you'd be the one getting the trick not them. Trick or treat? translation:give-me-suff-or-else. The "trick" is an idle threat to perform mischief on the homeowners or their property, such as Eggs and Flour being thrown at householders windows if no treat is given.
but this made me laugh, huge squirt.youd think as the kid saw the squirt gun and heard the answer that kids would run away, run far away.

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article. In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
